Why This Must Be Read: Very unique hurt in this hurt comfort story. Sheppard, though safe and sound on Atlantis, ends up becoming the unsuspecting lab rat to a vicious experiment, but that's all I'll say as I don't want to give too much away.

The Experiment is one of the first stories I read when I first joined the SGA fandom, and one of the first stories that made me want to read more SGA fic. Titan5 knows how to put poor Sheppard through the wringer. I really liked how she handled not only the hurt aspect, but the mental repercussions that follows what Sheppard is put through. There are no easy outs for him, only gradual and difficult healing both in body and mind, but with his friends there to help him.

I love how Fairyglass writes the slowly developing relationship - it hits a nice balance between friendship and romance. I really enjoyed reading this.

snippet: "Goodnight Doctor McKay, Doctor Zelenka," Sam says indulgently, waving up at Rodney before tapping the conversation clear. There's both a sense of relief and... something that feels an awful lot like reluctance as she does so. She frowns at the thought. Has it really been so long that Rodney McKay is looking good to her?

Why This Must Be Read: This "Sunday" tag is like an elegy -- there is so much emotion here, but it's quiet and restrained, beautiful and somber. And I love how John and Rodney get each other, including things both said and unsaid, even in the midst of unspeakable tragedy.
