In beautifully descriptive language, we learn about John and Rodney and their lives on a remote planet in the Pegasus galaxy, shared with with Teyla, Kanaan, Torren, and Ronon. They've left Atlantis behind and bits of that story is interlaced with the present, as they journey across a sea for a seasonal celebration. The sequel fills in more of the back story of their exodus, filled with loyalty and love.
