I would never have thought of this pairing, but it works wonderfully, and I love how the author fitted these two universes together. The characterization for both series is fantastic, and there are some great funny moments in the story as well. It's especially a must-read for anyone who hates how Donna's journey ended on Doctor Who.

Why this must be read:

This story has so much to recommend it. It's a lovely Daniel/Sha're piece, it's got angst enough to satisfy almost every reader, and at 33,000 words it's a long, satisfying, well-articulated portrayal of an alternate reality in which Daniel found Sha're and retired to Abydos to raise a family. However, it is at it's core a powerful Jack and Daniel friendship piece.

Six years into Daniel's new life on Abydos, Jack is brought to him, broken and battered with a traumatic brain injury. Daniel takes it upon himself to nurse Jack back to health against the wishes of Sam and Janet who believe Jack should return to Earth where he can receive professional care.

With the help of his family, and with infinite patience and care, Daniel gives Jack a reason to rejoin the human race.

Because it's really funny! If you need a laugh, this is the fic for you. Jack and Daniel join Sam and Janet of a Mediteranean cruise. Jack, trying to avoid the unwelcome attentions of one of the women on the ship, hints that he and Daniel are “together” and that both of them are unavailable. The hilarity continues from there.

While Jack and Daniel's friendship is the focus of the story (and the humor), it also has some great team moments as well. The snappy banter between Jack and Daniel is my favorite part of this fic.

Why This Must Be Read: Ever since I was a child, I had this horrific nightmare of what my father would do the first time I brought home a guy. Sam gets to experience triple the nightmare when not only Jack, but also Teal'c and Daniel find new and creative ways of scaring Pete Shanahan. Poor Pete, especially as he also had to handle Jacob earlier. Its a great piece of fluff that you can't help but laugh at and enjoy.
