Why This Must Be Read: In this powerful AU, Jolinar takes Daniel as host instead of Sam. And since there's no visit to Cassie to sound the alarm, Jolinar/Daniel make it off-world...
What follows is a fascinating internal struggle between Jolinar and Daniel, with arguments of morality and choice and keeping secrets, both for the sake of others and for themselves. Challenge and counter-challenge, needs and wants, caution and sacrifice, reluctant alliance - all vividly painted, and painfully real. And that glimmer of hope at the very end, when Jolinar redeems her final word to Daniel, will make you feel that maybe, just maybe, the whole thing was worthwhile.
Fugitive is long and satisfying, and a superb character study for both Daniel and Jolinar that you're sure to enjoy.
