Why This Must Be Read:
This story looks at the aftermath of 'Absolute Power'; what Daniel tells the team and General Hammond about his dream and, more importantly, what he leaves out, as well as the emotional toll it takes on him. It fills in some wonderful details of what Daniel has figured out about the Tok'ra's agenda, and the plans they had for Shifu. Absolute also serves a prologue to a story previously rec'ed in this catagory, To Better Light A Candle . I recommend reading them together for a complete and moving look at the immediate results of Shifu's dream, and the longterm effects that will stay with Daniel, influencing his decisions, right up through his ascension, and perhaps after. Not only must this be read, but it must be followed by it's sequel.
