Why This Must Be Read: It's a beautiful vignette about Elizabeth, and her feelings as seasons passed in Atlantis. Four vignettes, one for each seasons. The descriptions are just perfect, and Elizabeth is well written, with glimpses into her past, something we probably all wanted to know more about. It's really easy to be pulled along in this fic.

Why This Must Be Read:
This story is the best 'Atlantis's take on John Sheppard' story I've ever read. It's touching without being cloying, it's respectful without being fawning--it just strikes the most wonderful balance between 'bound by genes' and 'bound by love.' Atlantis cares for John because she's seen what he'll do to protect her, and we get to see it too, through her eyes. More about Atlantis than John, this story still highlights his character in the ways we love him best--self-sacrificing, protective, John.
