Why This Must Be Read: Depth Charge is set at a point where Cam is still trying to feel out the hows and whys of his team. He is unsure of himself, evident in both his mistakes in the field and his great leap of faith in this story. He knows Jackson needs to vent that steam pipe before someone gets hurt, but knowing that and marking himself as a target are two different things.  Apparently, Cam doesn't know when to quit.  The author breathes tangible emotions into their verbal exchanges, leaving the reader more than a little concerned for Cam's long-term safety and wondering not a small bit at the bug that has apparently crawled up Daniel's butt.  Actions speak louder than words.  I think, in the end, you will appreciate Cam's course of action.

ETA:  this is part of the Eurydiceverse series, found on her website.  I enjoy this series greatly because, frankly, no one can go through all that SG-1 has without being more than a little off-kilter!

Why This Must Be Read: This short, thoughtful piece, told entirely in Daniel's POV, is a wonderful slice of time after Fallen and Homecoming. Daniel, still uncertain of his abilities and place in the SGC, can't quite figure out Jack. But in the end, with a lovely insight that says so much about their friendship, Daniel finally realizes that the why is much more important than the how... and that for the time being, that's more than enough.
