Why This Must Be Read:

As a viewer who has no vested interest whatsoever in Rodney McKay, this story was particularly refreshing in providing a point of view of Rodney that we seldom see - Teyla's. Kuwdora manages to paint a subtly alluring picture of Teyla and Rodney's friendship, setting the framework for a connection between the two characters if given the chance to grow. They are in Teyla's element, and Rodney allows himself to be led.

Why This Must Be Read:

Anyone who regularly reads stargateficrec should already be aware of fignewton for her enthusiastic recs. But she's also a talented fic writer in her own right.

This is brand new ficlet by fig. It's a sweet tag to "Upgrades" while Sam is coming down from her "atoneek armband high". She is full of guilt, and regret, as well as mourning a particular aspect of the alien device. The interaction between Sam and Janet is wonderful. We never saw enough of it on the show, and there's never enough Sam & Janet friendship fic out there. It also gives a lovely insight into Sam's character.

And yes, I'm probably completely biased about this story since it happened to be my prompt, but but...girl friendship! complete with motorcycle reference! :-) Come on, you know you want to link, it'll make you smile.

Why This Must Be Read: The Earth may or may not be there any more, but SG-1 is still alive and kicking... even if they have to stay in hiding, and keep moving to avoid detection.

 

Cofax plunges us right into the middle of the story, giving us a rich, vivid look at the planet where Sam, Jack, Teal'c, and Daniel currently reside. There's great characterization as each team member does his or her best to deal with what they've got and what they need to keep going. And when events suddenly shift into crisis mode – well, this is SG-1. Even in grief and desperation, these four are marvelously themselves.

 

Like most apocafics, this story can't be classified as happy. But it's an excellent drama, intensely gripping, and a fantastic tribute to the tenacity of SG-1.
