Why This Must Be Read: After reading this story tonight, I instantly had to rush over here and rec. This story blew me away -- I recommend that you try it whether or not you normally read gen, whether or not you read deathfic; it's really, truly that good. Everything about this story is wonderful: the concept, the execution, the mystery, the tremendous depth of emotion and the understated way in which it is conveyed, the carefully crafted plot where every piece falls into place one by one. John is wonderful in this, and the bond between Sheppard and his team, and especially between Sheppard and Rodney, is beautifully developed.
