Good morning/afternoon/evening. I'm [livejournal.com profile] ladybirdness and I'll be your Cam/Sam reccer this month. Be warned I might find the weirdest stuff, anything from a good solid whumping to them shagging like bunnies.

I'm starting things off with ....this.

Rec Category:Cameron/Sam
Pairing: Cameron Mitchell/Samantha Carter
Category: UST, RST, some angst, het
Warning: het, spoilers for S10 'unending', sexual themes (rated M-R)
Author on LJ:[livejournal.com profile] glowing_sunset
Author's Website:N/A
Link:Onwards to Cam and Sam

Why This Must Be Read:
I might be a little biased but when the Cam/Sam idea started being floated around, towards the end of the last season of SG-1, [livejournal.com profile] glowing_sunset was among the first to begin writing it. And write it well too. This story is a showpiece of the thoughts of Sam as she struggles to seperate her present from the "what might have been".

Rec Category: McKay
Pairing: none
Category: gen, Mckay, Sheppard, OC
Warning: OC, hint of het
Author on LJ: n/a
Author's Website: http://sirithroslirenel.deviantart.com/
Link: Atlantis Mermaid at fanfiction.net

Why This Must Be Read: Because it's sad and it's sweet and oh so perfect. It's [obviously] a story about a mermaid, but the difference is that instead of a main cast member being the mermaid, an OC takes the lead instead. It's written in the first person format and the stream of thought is just perfect, you feel every emotion that the character does. I won't go into much further detail because I don't want to spoil it for you, but trust me the ending will hit you in the gut.

Edit: Sorry, forgot the rating! :(

Warnings: none

Why This Must Be Read: Meet Dr. Jacobs, new to Colorado Springs and not yet indoctrinated into the insanity of life in proximity to Cheyenne Mountain. When two accident victims end up in her emergency room at the local hospital, babbling about alien invasions and with needle marks on their arms, what is the poor woman supposed to think?

In the interests of full disclosure, I will cheerfully admit that it was a discussion about pre- and post-mission bloodwork on my LJ that inspired this fic, and that Aurora actually posted it in honor of my birthday. But it’s hilariously funny, and she put Sam and Daniel in leather jackets on Sam’s motorcycle, which is always a plus. :) We get Janet in Little Doc powermonger mode, Teal’c and Jack showing up in the nick of time, and a wise, all-knowing janitor to warn the flustered Dr. Jacobs that such bizarre happenings are merely par for the course… Really, what’s not to love?

Rec category: Hurt/Comfort
Pairing: John/Rodney
Category: slash, h/c, John/Rodney, Ronon,
Warnings: slash, spoilers through No Man's Land
Author on LJ: [profile] ltlj
Author's website: Water Gate
Link: Burnout

Why This Must be Read:

If Rodney wanted to express his frustration with life by ripping Hermiod's oversized head off, John really didn't care at the moment.

Something I wish there were more of on the show is the fallout of the events in the episodes. We get to see them escaping certain death, averting disasters, and saving the day with only an inch to spare, but we never get to see them coming down afterwards.

Burnout is a tag to the S2 episode No Man's Land, after the crew of the Deadalus has beamed over to the Hive ship, and they are on their way home. Rodney is freaking out and John tries to make him get some rest. There is threathening of creepy little Asgards, cuddling, and a promise of comfort sex. And Ronon as an added bonus. Because we know that being held prisoner on a Hive ship must have gotten to him too.

Most important: PLEASE put the Rating in the Subject Line. Right now, I cannot stress how important this is. The name of the story, the author, AND the rating need to go in the subject line. If the author doesn't give the story a rating, then the rec'cer needs to do it, at least for the purposes of this comm. Starting now, I'm going to make it a requirement. Ratings are a must!!!

We have a lot of new rec'cers this month, but I think this could go for everyone. Please review the FAQ. If you have any questions, you can ask them here or email me. I have a paid account so the address is my username [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] @livejournal.com. Either way, I'm here if you have questions. And I have no problem answering them.

Due to rising interest, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I have decided to re-enlist 'Team' as its own category. So if you want to rec 'Team' from now on, go here to volunteer. You no longer need to ask for it as a Genre: Other category. See? It does work. If a category is requested enough, it can be added into the regular rotation. ;)

And I do believe that's it for this month. Enjoy!!!
