Why This Must Be Read: Written for the 2005 sg1teamficathon (and hey, if you like the stories in there, express your enthusiasm here for a 2007 version!), Curiosity Froze the Cat is a great humor gem. Karen writes the original team dynamic wonderfully, and the dialogue is spot-on. The story starts off rather like a snowball-- or more fittingly, say, oh, a big chunk of ice-- that's perched at the top of a hill and then given a shove. Or perhaps, just a touch, as we all know that certain members of SG-1 are notorious for touching things they shouldn't. Of course, then the story picks up speed and anything else in its way until before you know it, blowtorches, jellyfish, bodily fluids and massive amounts of snark are barreling toward you, and you're laughing too hard to get out of the way.
