While Daniel is ascended SG-1 finds Sha're/Amaunet on a Goa'uld ship and manages to capture her and remove the symbiote. What follows is a fantastic study of both Sha're and Sam as Sha're slowly learns about the world of her husband and why these people are important to him and Sam finally gets to know the amazing strength of Daniel's wife.

The friendship and understanding that develops between Sam and Sha're - both as ex-hosts and as strong women is powerful and beautiful and the ramifications of Sam's time with Jolinar are deftly woven into the story. If there's one AU I wish had actually happened on the show, this would be it.

Why This Must Be Read: This lovely little piece starts out with Vala making her teasing fun of Daniel – of course. As I read it, I thought well this isn’t drama so I will not be reccing it this month. But then it starts to develop – you see the strength of the author’s handling of Daniel’s character and Vala’s as well. With a turn of a phrase, the author transforms this humor piece into a short drama with depth of emotion that few authors (both professional and fanfic alike) rarely are able to do. The story takes place in one scene, in a tent, with only Daniel and Vala. It is short and shows us so much more on many levels with such few words…you’re left to wonder ‘how does Moonshayde do it?’
