Why This Must Be Read: The story follows Daniel at the cabin with the team, after Moebius. His feelings have been tamped down for so long, he's not sure whether he's reading the signals right, if this might finally be "it" -- if his feelings are reciprocated. It's a lovely slow, romantic reveal, with skillful portrayal, even through Daniel's POV, of the connection Jack has with him.

Why This Must Be Read: While waiting out the addiction during The Light, Jack and Daniel have "the" conversation. It's one of those afternoons in which everything changes once everything is said out loud. Both character voices are perfectly spot on -- Daniel's academic curiosity and bluntness and Jack's pragmatism. Their emotional honesty and intimacy ends up being even more powerful than their physical connection. It's a gorgeous portrait of their relationship.

Why This Must Be Read:

This is a sweet and funny little fic that I just absolutely love. From Jack gleefully messing with Jonas' seemingly endless supply of pencils to the easy going banter between teammates who have saved the world so many times that it almost seems routine.

The team is stuck offworld and are again facing certain doom. Sam is taking a moment; a break from the pressure of always being the one to solve the unsolvable problem. The heart of the fic is her wry observation of Jack's supposed 'everyman' average intelligence level, and his awww shucks reaction to her jibes is wonderfully done.

Why This Must Be Read:

[livejournal.com profile] greensilver has a beautiful lyrical quality to her writing. This snippet has a wonderful resonance, with the underlying metaphor linking the rather poetic observations.

Definitely one to read and remember.

Summary: Even though he's still walking around, Harry Potter didn't really survive the war.
Why this should be read: Great storytelling! And I love that John is ) and still very much John, haunted by all his ghosts.
I think it's a fantastic premise and it's pulled off really well. Each of the two worlds is so very real.

Why this must be read: This is a quiet, melancholy character piece about how you can never go home again. While the theme may be familiar, it is the small details that set this story apart, everything from Athosian customs, to bits of Teyla's past. All and all, it is just a lovely piece of writing and well worth the read.

Tidbit: She remembered her own excitement the first day her father had allowed her to light the lantern outside their own tent, using the fire starter he gave into her hand.
