Why This Must Be Read: Aww, high school AU! She's the new girl in school and he's the captain of the football team who befriends her after she's tripped by one of the jocks. It's cuteness and fluff without being too schoompy and a nice little slice of life vignette that I found enjoyable.

For a character who has only appeared in 7 episodes, he's definitely made a big impact - and truly, who didn't have a little weep at the end of "Divide and Conquer"? Ahhh Machello and his devices...

This delightful fic gives a whole new dimension to the body/gender swapping notion, because this time we have three consciousnesses and only two bodies to contend with. Jewels gives us a glimpse into the special dynamic between host and symbiote, and the acerbic dry wit that Lantesh has.

The humorous thread running through the story, pokes fun at the obvious tropes and Colonel O'Neill sharing his brand of Tau'ri humour with one of the hapless Tok'ra is definitely worth a few grins.

But even with all the comic moments, there is still that undercurrent of unease for Sam - considering her experience with Jolinar, and to see that element to the story resolve itself just makes you wonder "what if?"

Why This Must Be Read: Daniel needs to stay on the Stargate program when he first joins – both to save his wife and his sanity – but he isn't quite sure how to prove to General Hammond and the others that he's fully capable of doing his job. So what happens when his determination to prove his capabilities leads him into doing something dangerously stupid?

In Proof, Wonderland gives us a nice first-person POV of Daniel's thoughts as he employs old tricks to slide past his pre-mission checks and get permission to go through the Gate. When his little bit of chicanery turns life-threatening, it's teamy goodness that helps him get through some very scary moments – and then hit him over the head, in the nicest possible way, with the realization that he really is an integral part of SG-1. Although Daniel himself is quite sure that Janet would kill him if she really knew the truth…

Early season Daniel was a delightful mix of unconscious arrogance and a self-conscious tendency to sell himself short. Wonderland does a great job of portraying that Daniel in this short and thoughtful story.
