Why This Must Be Read: Sliver is an excellent action piece with a truly funny twist at the end. Crucially, Martha has Sheppard’s voice and character down to a T and runs him through a thoroughly believable set of emotions suitable to his plight and what he believes is the situation they’re in.
Set in season 1, the story is not particularly long, but it is thoroughly enjoyable with a setting that is wonderfully described. Even better, the balance of angst and humour is damned near perfect. You could easily imagine seeing this on the show.
Enjoy!
