Why This Must Be Read: This fic, set before the team moved to Antartica, is a great little story detailing how McKay and Weir may have met for the first time in less than perfect circumstances. Most people would probably that McKay would not have been Weir's first choice for head scientist of the expedition, and this fic says the same thing. But it also shows how through their encounter, she is encouraged otherwise.

Why This Must Be Read: I don't think there's anyone who doesn't know what happened in Threads, but I'll not blurt it out, just in case. This is a missing scene from Threads. One that I think we really needed concerning Sam and Jacob, but that wasn't given to us by TPTB. Nanda fixes that by giving us a Sam who's trying to make it through that week after the whole thing with Jacob. She's just going through the motions until the boys show up, and suddenly things might be okay afterall. Somehow I think this is really the way Sam would have acted if they'd shown us her experience on the show.

It's a nice, short, wonderful team fic about SG-1 pulling together when one of their own needs a little help. You can just feel how comfortable they are with each other, and how much they've come to rely on each other. There's no way these people can live without each other now.
