Why This Must Be Read:

I love SGA Au's, especially when they parallel so closely to "reality". In this story, John retires from the military after Antarctica (no Stargate, SGC, etc) after inheriting a grocery store in San Francisco, near UC Berkley where, as we find out, Rodney teaches. They meet for the first time in John's store over coffee and twinkies.

John and Rodney are totally in character, the original characters are good and really make the universe of the story rich, full and deep. This is a fun, lighter story that really works.

Why This Must Be Read:

Incredible AU, where the SGA folks are in a band and not just any band, but the AU equivalent of U2. The story is told almost like an article in Rolling Stone but not quite, although the feeling you get as you read the band's history does have that sense. The way that trinityofone uses the story of Ford (his loss from the team) and then Ronon joining it is brilliant. The John and Rodney relationship is heartbreaking and powerful. And the writing is just out of this world.
