Why This Must Be Read: It's Rodney and Ronon bonding over food! It's hilarious and touching and it just gives you so much subtle insight into the workings of both of their minds. They don't communicate in any normal way -- everything they say and do is so uniquely them and this story shows the ups-and-downs in learning each other. It's perhaps the story that, I believe, makes this pairing most believable. Excellent!

Why This Must Be Read: Considering that this fic starts with Jack dying in Double Jeopardy while his robot survives, it's hard to believe that more angst is in store. Yet Destina beautifully peels back additional, painful layers of the story, like an onion, until the ending is a full-on sobfest. Masterfully written and a great read.

Why This Must Be Read: This story wonderfully depicts Daniel's increasingly divided loyalties in the early years. He had been happy on Abydos with Sha're, but on the other hand his time at the SGC couldn't help but change him. Here the team is about to go on a mission that has a good chance of retrieving Sha're. How he deals with that knowledge is realistically portrayed as he recognizes his heart is divided. It's hard to say what's "right" or "wrong" here, only that whatever actions he takes will be painful.

This is a superbly written story, with amazing detail. Sam and Janet are portrayed very accurately and with a great sense of character. A very good plotline, a little bit mean to Sam at times but more than worth it in the end. A very engaging and entertaining read.
