Why This Must Be Read:
There's a lot of Carrie's stuff that I don't read, not because it's not good, just because she tends to focus on Daniel and I'm not a fan of Daniel fic. This one is different however. In this fic, the team is off world on a mission and stumbles across something that brings their fears to life. And during the fic we get to get a glimpse into each of the characters, their fears and insecurities that they deal with on a daily basis.
From the Sam pov, the fic is set soon after ITLOD, and so it deals with her issues getting her confidence back, dealing with what happened and how it has changed and altered her friendships with her friends.

Why This Must Be Read: One thing that's all too rare in the Stargate fandom is real gen fic. By this I mean gen fic that's not about Daniel or the Jack/Daniel dynamic. If a person is a Sam fan, most of what they're going to find to read is ship simply because, for the most part, the shippers are the only folks to write sam.
In Threes is an exception to this. It is just a short fic, about eleven pages, so there's no great and fantastic plot. In fact, it's a simple little HC fic, but it's fun in that it's about Sam who gets whumpied. And it doesn't get bogged down with ship or declarations of undying love.
It's just a fun little friendship fic with come comfort tossed in for good measure with a little Sam/Teal'c bonding adorning it like a cherry on top.

Why This Must Be Read: There's a lot of older stuff that gets glossed over, despite the opportunities given to fanfic writers by the show. Tin Man is one of those episodes that is just rife with opportunities, but only a few roads are ever taken. Usually, of all the Tin Man fic I've read, they're usually PWP's with the robots taking advantage of being 'fully functional' to, well, function.
This is different.
What is the greatest gift Jack can be given? It's not eternal life or super powers. Face it, those are pretty useless if you can't leave the house.
Robo Sam gives Jack, and the rest of her team, the 'greatest gift', and in doing that illustrates a prime example of just why these folks are teammates and friends.

Why This Should Be Read:

There are a million reasons I could give for why this particular story should be read. It's very beautful and had me grabbing for tissues multiple times. This is another beautiful, brilliantly written story by Sideburns. In this one the spirit of Janet visits Daniel and eats a meal with him. She has a purpose for her visit that is not revealed until the end. She has returned to Earth for a reason and visits each of her friends. She thinks she knows her purpose for returning but begins to question it as new events unfold. This story is an emotionally powerful, gripping story that ends beautifully. It's a must in the reading department. I absolutely love this story and find it to be one of the best I've read. Enjoy!
