'After All' is one of the few fics where Sam and Jack have sex and then don't immediately fall into angst-free loveandhugs. The classic 'morning after' genre applied to remind us that these characters are complex and difficult people with complicated lives. It's not angst for the sake of it, but deriving naturally from the situation, and Little Red gives us a good reason for them to finally do the wild thing. The language is good, getting across the feeling of uncertainty, and the word choice rocks my wee socks. If this isn't one of the classics of the pairing, then there is indeed no justice.

This story is one of my favorites in the Stargate universe, and one I've read over and over; every time I come across it again it's a pleasant surprise. Anna's stories are spectacular as a rule, and this one is no exception, but it is a particular pleasure. Anna's characterizations are great, her voices are wonderful, and I'm really running out of adjectives to describe how tremendous the story is, so I'll let it speak for itself.

To counterbalance the angst of me previous rec, here is the fun and funny that occurs when Sam and Jack decide to do something to get rid of all that sexual tension. It somehow manages to be both entirely in character and entirely plausible despite the... rather misguided approach they take. The rare humour fic that's neither OTT not OOC.
