Why This Must Be Read: I like this. A short, sweet missing scene from "The Powers That Be," this vignette walks a nice line between the requisite snark and the seed of genuine caring growing between Daniel and Vala. With these two, it's easy to go too far in either direction; too many zingers, and they just come off bitchy; too gooey, and you start to wonder if they're the same characters we saw on the show. But this is nice; here they show each other only as much as they do on the show, and no more…even if "more" is obviously kept hidden.

And the last line? Simply lovely. *sigh*
