Why This Must Be Read: Marzipan77 is a phenomenal writer with a talent for weaving words to create the perfect atmosphere. When I originally read this story I hadn't actually seen any SGA yet (and I still haven't seen "First Contact" or "Lost Tribe" during which this story is set), but I still loved this story for its vivid imagery and powerful emotions. Now that I've seen most of SGA, I can appreciate just how perfectly each character is portrayed, their voice captured. Although there is a definite plot here as Daniel travels to Atlantis, at its core this story is about friendship and about Daniel struggling to deal with everything that's happened to him over the years, and especially how badly he's coped with his friends from SG-1 leaving him. There are a lot of great character moments in this story as Daniel gets to know Atlantis and as the Atlantis crew gets to meet Daniel. An all-around beautifully written story.
