ADMIN: My Final Admin

Happy holidays, Everyone. As the subject indicates, this will be my final admin to all of you. I took over this comm when it was in its infancy in 2004. Back then, we had no volunteers and very few members. Through determination and my sheer will to harass my friends, we kept the comm alive and it grew to be the largest Stargate fanfiction community on Live Journal. Not only was it the biggest, but it was flame-free and encompassed fic for everyone. I always believed that to be the biggest appeal of the community. It soon became too big for me to do alone and I dragged [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] into administration as my second in command. She's stuck it out with me through a lot of years. Not only am I retiring, but she's retiring as well.

Thankfully, this is not the end of the community. There is no way either of us would have walked away from everything we worked so hard to build without leaving it in the best of hands. And we know we've found that in the comm's new own... [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com].

I'm about a month late in making the announcement and switch. There's a lot of reasons as to why I'm handing over ownership of the community. The main reason being that I don't read and write as much as I used to. I simply don't have the time to devote to the comm that I used to, and I want this comm to thrive, to succeed. I know that Fig will give it everything she has to help it succeed. She'll still have the volunteers to help her, and who knows? I'm sure she'll have a lot of new ideas to keep the comm going.

I have loved owning and running this comm. I have loved meeting the volunteers and rec'cers, but I know that the time has come to step aside and allow someone to take over who has the time and desire to give this great comm everything she has. I will forever be thankful for everyone who put their hearts, time, and effort into this great community. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!

This site was, once I found it, on my daily viewing, and I found so many good stories here that I'd never have found otherwise. Many of the recs for fic I enjoyed came from Fig, so the change will be to someone who truly cares, and that's great.
