Why this must be read:

I find it amazing that this story, and the accompanies series, has not already been rec'd.  This is my all time favorite series.  This is the sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and all around enjoyable stories about when John Sheppard was turned into a Cat.

This is the first story in the Checkmate 'Verse and is from John's POV as he is turned into a cat and the ensuing pandemonium.  

Note: the full title of this fic is: A Lieutenant Colonel Walks Into a Spirit House On Two Legs And Runs Out On Four, Or, And Now, For Your Edification, An Unscheduled Spirit Walk  - but it wound not fit in the subject line.  lol  



The shaman leaned toward him, hand reaching out and John instinctively raised his to keep him at bay until he figured out what was going on and that’s when John realized he no longer had hands and freaked the fuck out.
