Why this must be read: In this old school SG-1 tale, the team returns to a world already devastated by one Goa'uld attack to retrieve offworld personnel before a second attack occurs. Along the way, Daniel ponders the commonalities between he and Jack and that elusive something more he wants but can't define, while the author beautifully and evocatively portrays another commonality: the damn distasteful things they each have to do on the job, to their relationship and to themselves.
