Why this must be read:
The crossover is Angel The Series.
Jack really wanted somebody else other than a Russian and Jonas…and this solution might just work…plus, I like Wesley. And I can just imagine Wesley in quite a variety of adventures with Our Team.

Author’s Notes:
"Uh, hi," an unfamiliar male voice replied. "This is Colonel Jack O'Neill of the United States Air Force. I'm looking for a Wesley Wyndham-Pryce?"

And a short summary:
SG-1 goes looking for their new linguist in the unlikeliest of places: a private investigative agency in Los Angeles.

I really think you should also point out that although this is not quite a WiP, it can't really be called finished either. It's the first in a series of three medium/shorts, each of them a semi-standalone. However, they form part of a series that is fairly clearly going somewhere and hasn't reached it yet and individually they aren't really 'complete' IMHO. I'm not saying it's not worth reading (it most definitely is) but some people really object to getting taken by surprise with WiPs and there's no indication in the series that it's not finished and may never be.
