Why this must be read:
I seriously don't know what it is with hero!Rodney this rec cycle, but he's just turning up everywhere... *facepalm* In this utterly gut-wrenching and moving AU to Siege II, Rodney takes out that second nuclear-armed jumper to blow up more hive ships. With a phenomenal Rodney voice, Canadian_snoopy will make your hair stand on end and your heart beat at the implications and the goodbyes. Sheppard's not the only one with a hero-complex and this story just proves it. Make sure and have a hanky ready, this'll make you cry for sure.
Story Summary: Rodney had never seen the point in quiet suffering.
"Atlantis, this is Jumper Two, please respond.
"Yeah, okay, so I knew this would happen. Stupid radiation, stupid RF signals."
He takes a deep breath because that's pretty much the only thing he can do without bursting into very unmanly tears and begins his report. "Okay, okay. Cloak is on, nuke is armed. Ten minute countdown has started, which I want to go on the record as saying, manages to both suck *and* blow.
"That’s right, I said it. Rodney McKay is an *incredibly* reluctant hero. Carson, you rock throwing ass, if you manage to get yourself killed in the next ten minutes because you didn’t duck a Wraith stunner, I am *so* going to haunt you.
"And guys, just in case you are hearing this and can’t reply -- which really, why *not*, it’s been that kind of day for me -- would you please tell Samantha Carter when you see her that her Mark II generator is the crappiest piece of crap to ever crap? Seriously, just... pfft."
