P.S. My apologies for the delay but the fic I initially intended to rec was no longer available. I posted a request for an alternative link on stargateficsearch only to have the author leave a comment stating that she no longer wants her work up on the web nor it be shared amongst us due to vicious intrusion into her personal life by unnamed individuals. I cannot imagine the reason behind such cruelty but it is terribly sad to see such behaviour in general, let alone against someone whose work has brought you joy. I have passed along my regrets and support to Carron, should there be fans of hers who spot this post you may want to do the same, if you have an alternative means of contacting her. From the comments left under her reply I gather that not many were aware of the unkindness she was dealt. I would like to take this moment to thank all the authors of JD fandom, and slash fandom as a whole, for writing and sharing your wonderful works of art. Thank you, always!

Date: 2011-05-21 08:33 pm (UTC)I am not, and never will be (and this may seem strange from a guy who is Queer-identified) a reader of, most, fandom m/m slash, or f/f slash for that matter, but simply because I see most of those characters as straight.
Having said that I cannot understand what drives people, who should be better than that; or anyone, to deliver such cruelty as you are talking about to someone who is simply trying to create something for people to enjoy; is in fact baring a part of their soul.
As a creator of fanfiction myself I know how I'd feel if someone decided to do this to me.
I always feel a bit diminished, and a wee bit depressed, to read of things like this.
