Why this must be read: It kept me turning the page, and presents a very adult relationship between Sam and jack, with its ups, and downs, and twisty turns. A relationship that could stand around 9 years of “hiatus” and then be developed and last. But it is not just a relationship story- it has action, angst, teamwork, and again, Atlantis is the focus.
I put this in the SGA show category because it is about Sam and Atlantis. I accurately show that Jack is an outsider here, and I think shows the team – teams, in SGA. But it is a cross, because SG1 is the foundation of Sam and Jack’s relationship.
Plus Lorne is one of my favorite characters in Atlantis.
Also, it doesn’t skirt over the morality of the characters, and it shows the strength of Jennifer Keller.
It is also full of well plotted out action and reveals.
(disclaimer—I haven’t finished watching Atlantis yet, haven’t even gotten to S4, and I think this fiction is a shining example of how you don’t absolutely have to know one of the “crosses” in a crossover if it is written in a certain way, which I don’t think takes away from other crossovers which are best read where you know both shows well.)
