Why this must be read:

A very poignant look at the beginning and the end of a relationship that is dear to my heart and to many in SG1 fandom, Jacob Carter and Selmak. SuzanneMarie gets into Jacob's and Selmak's heads so well as she explores their relationship. I enjoyed seeing Selmak's past hosts immensely. It provided a lot of insight into what shaped Selmak into the Tok'ra we all know and love. And the ending scene, with both dying in Threads... Incredibly moving to see how much their friendship had taken shape and how at the end, they had no regrets. They were ready to move on. Definitely a moving fic that will leave you a sad, but happy, reader. :)

Story Summary: Two brief scenes from the beginning of Jacob’s and Selmak’s time together and the end.

I know. It’s been an honor, old friend.

I shouldn’t have let you talk me into staying within you. There was no reason for you to die too. Jacob could feel the regret behind Selmak’s words.

It was my decision. You gave me six years that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. You helped me reconcile with my children. I got to know my grandchildren. I’ve travelled throughout the galaxy. It wasn’t just my body that was healed when we blended, it was my life.

No regrets?

No. And you shouldn’t have any either. We’ve seen the end of the Replicators. The Goa’uld are collapsing. We’ve done what we set out to do. Breathe. Rest. Sleep.
