Why This Must Be Read:  This one hurt. A lot. I cried! And I really, really, REALLY wanted to hurt Jack. I tend not to read fics like this, a pinch of sad and a whole lot of happy is my usual. But there was so much story - a Daniel past that is unique from any I've read before, and aspects to his personality revealed in beautiful and wonderful ways - that I initially just skipped through the Jack-arse moments and the non-con right onto the rebuilding and happy parts. Of course I fell in love with all the new characters and adored the old ones that much more by the end of it, that I felt it to be a disservice to have cheated so and actually went back and reread it in its entirety shortly after. This should have everything for the discerning reader: Angst upon angst, upon angst, crazy ass aliens, new and different jerks (off planet and on) conquered by a unified SG1 (one of my favourite aspects of the story), smart/sweet/loving big-sis, pro-J/D Sam, examples of strength and depths of forgiveness and love that kinda reminds one of why we love this couple ... An achy, sometimes wrung out journey, but well worth the time and read. Enjoy!

I always seem to come into a fandom late, so I miss the great authors as they're truly getting into their works, usually that's the case and a great regret. We're lucky that the boys still have a few good ones still sticking around, I'd really hate not to have anything new to read. :) But truth be told, I think in regards to this particular fic, I'm grateful for not having been around as each piece was posted. I think I would have gone stark raving mad waiting for the happy post. Especially after the second addition, I don't think it would have been healthy to be that angry with a fictional character for too long a time.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the rec, I'm glad I'm on the right track as far as my recs go. I wasn't really sure how my offers would be received, what I like rarely seems to meld with those around me, so I really appreciate your appreciation of the fic. :D
