Crossover With: CSI

A very entrancing cross with two fandoms on opposing ends of the "need to know" scale. Daniel's world is swathed in secrecy and security clearance; Jim's is all about the facts, all the facts, to catch the bad guys and put 'em away. These two individuals stuck in an interrogation room made for a very fascinating 750 word read. Even though there is back story just hinted at that made me go "gggrrrr" a few times in frustration, this fic captivated me from paragraph 1.

Story Summary: "What kind of archaeology is classified?"

"What does the Air Force need with an archaeologist?"

"Oh, loads of things." His eyes lit up and he sat up straight. "You see, there's a law called the National Historic Preservation Act that requires the government to conduct excavations whenever they plan to--"

Jim held up a hand. "I get the idea."

"Oh. Right."

Jim waited, watching until Jackson started to squirm. "You work in Colorado Springs?"

"Yes."

"Why were you in Las Vegas?"

"Just visiting."

Jim raised his eyebrows. "Why?"

"Military business. I'm afraid it's classified."

Jim snorted. "What kind of archaeology is classified?"
