Why this must be read:

Tarlan is hands down one of my fav McShep writers; this gal knows how to spin a yarn with the best of 'em. She's written several fics with the Quantum Mirror/Alternate Reality schtick; I had a really hard time narrowing it down. But Golden Opportunities came out ahead 'cause it's just so darn unique! This drabble gives a brief, but ever so fascinating, look at the world from which the ever-vanishing Daedalus  in "Daedalus Variations" is from. When our team is watching the recording from Colonel Sewell on the fate of the original crew, I always wondered what that world was like or how that commander felt with no hope of rescue. Tarlan gives an VERY intriguing look at a totally different world that just made me smile.

Story Summary: She thought it was a golden opportunity to show the council her true worth.

She would have been the one courting Rodney McKay's affection and persuading the brilliant scientist to look beyond the superficiality of the male/female divide by coercion if necessary as McKay was headstrong - for a simple male.
