Why This Must Be Read: This fic takes place during Return, and it's just an awesome and very unique take on the level of isolation that Elizabeth subjected herself to, and how that manifested in her relationships with Rodney, Carson and especially John. There are so many small touches that evoke great characterization. This story is all about the emotional impact of the episode, and how Elizabeth deals with it, or more precisely doesn't. And John, guh - the thing some authors don't understand is that John has a slightly darker side too, one that raises its ugly head when he feels people slipping away. The tone of this fic is wonderful. Also, there's so much hawtness factor that any words of praise would do it injustice. Best read for yourself!
