Why this must be read: This won't be the last fic I rec from the Jonas Alphabet Soup, but there is a reason I chose it for first. I am not the only fan that was irritated by the almost casual brush-off that Jonas got during season 10 and so fic that deals with that always makes me happy.

However this one manages to capture so much of how I see Jonas after the Ori invade his planet. He doesn't bow down and accept it. He's determined to fight, as you would expect, he cares deeply for the people who are in his team, and for the future of his world. What I do love in particular is his reluctance as a leader - it's not something he wants, but it is something he does because it needs doing (and he does it well).

Also underneath it all, is Jonas' continuing search - unconscious at times - for Jack O'Neill's approval, even as he seeks to emulate him.

I won't go on (oh, but I can), but you should definitely read this fic.

'What are you doing here?' he demanded. 'You're supposed to be with the Stargate.'

'Beta team is with the Stargate.' Terra replied defiantly. 'You didn't think we'd leave you behind, did you?'

Jonas had no reply; the urge to yell competed with the more pressing urge to get them all to safety. He pulled a face. 'We should move.'

Terra nodded. 'Ring rooms; Kianna is waiting for us.'
