Why This Must Be Read: From Jack's first disastrous barbecue to Vala baking pie to Cam's mother's recipe, here are five delightful times when a member of SG-1 prepared food for the others. Fridayschild spans ten years and multiple team incarnations, and every one of these is a pleasure!
Right around the time Jonas was getting over his addiction to the Weather Channel, Teal’c was getting hooked on the Food Channel. It didn’t take long for Jonas to fall in love and the two aliens passed countless hours watching other people make delicious foods they never got to taste themselves.
Had she realized just how much time the pair spent watching Emeril dance around his kitchen shouting “Bam!”, Sam never would have left them alone with their motel’s tiny little kitchenette.
In the hour it took her to wrap things up with the NID team, the duo managed to make a grocery run and all but destroy the kitchenette. Sam arrived back just in time to watch a tofu, spinach and tomato concoction go flying from Jonas’ lidless blender. Of course, the Kelownan felt this deserved a hearty “Bam!” Meanwhile Teal’c, while trying to put out his dry pasta noodle fire, sent a frying pan of melted butter tumbling to the floor.
It took the rest of the day to clean up the mess and Sam was irritated right up until the moment Teal’c popped a brownie in her mouth to stop her steady stream of “what were you thinking?”s.
It took three more brownies, but eventually Sam forgave them.
