Show: Stargate SG-1
Rec Category: Alternate Reality/Quantum Mirror
Characters: alt-team, alt-Charlie Kawalsky
Het/Slash/Gen: Gen
Warning: some spoilers for "Point of View"

Why this must be read:
This is a wonderful and unique take on the quantum mirror story. Redbyrd starts out by re-telling, in pieces, the episode Point of View through the alt-Charlie Kawalsky's eyes. From there we get to see how the world on the other side of the mirror tries to rebuilt itself and deal with the issues that having the Stargate now public bring up. I have not read another fic like this in the SG1 fandom. For that uniqueness alone, it should be looked at. But Redbyrd has also written a fantastic story with engaging charactersand a very intriquing plot idea. Go give her a gander!
Author's summary: Charlie Kawalsky and Samantha Carter are astonished at the differences they find in this perfect alternate reality where their friends are alive and the Goa'uld attack has been averted. After they return home, they are faced with the enormous task of rebuilding Earth's failed defenses and they know they need to make some changes. Number one on their list..recruit Daniel Jackson.
EDITED on 4/11/10 at 10:09 AM MST: Changed Author on LJ 'cause I'm a dunce still working on this learning LJ thing even after three years... XD

Date: 2010-08-31 05:46 pm (UTC)All of my fic to date is in the same continuity, so original characters from one story often appear in another, and events in fics set early in the Stargate canon are sometimes referred to in later fics.
I suppose that authors, like parents, aren't supposed to play favorites, but this fic is my own favorite to have written--I had enormous fun with it, and I'm delighted that other people seem to be enjoying it as well. Thanks, Slam, sg_wonderland, and duonoaikouka for the recs!
