Why This Must Be Read: In this brief and heart-wrenching story, John has to talk down a high-as-a-kite Rodney who's reeling from a devastating disaster. The author does a great job with the challenging task of telling the story from the viewpoint of a Rodney who's operating in a highly altered mental state, and the emotion is powerful without being over-the-top.
