Why this must be read: This series is epic. In the Retrograde Universe, the Atlantis expedition has been lost for three years before the SGC can find them. SG-1 and company go to the Pegasus Galaxy to reestablish contact, but find out that the NID have beaten them there. After being screwed over by the NID, the expedition doesn't know who to trust, and SG-1 must regain their trust and persuade them to reestablish contact with Earth. The rest of the stories mainly deal with Atlantis recovering and getting everything back on track along with dealing with bureaucratic crap from Earth. LtLJ is an amazing writer who does a great job fleshing out the Stargate-verse, balances humor and drama perfectly, seamlessly combines the two shows with each other, writes each character convincingly and manages to come up with awesome plots that kept me enthralled. My personal favorite story is Vegas, in which John, Teyla and Rodney head to Las Vegas to chill while waiting to find out if John will be allowed to go back to Atlantis and if so, in what capacity. The series is gen, with one glaring exception in the story Vegas which features John/Teyla/Rodney, but you can ignore that easily by skipping a few paragraphs.

This is one of my all time favorite series. As I've said before, Martha Wilson is a powerhouse writer of minimal words.

On a side note, you might want to space out your recs so you're not spamming the com. More people read them that way.

A big thumb's up on this recommendation. The only bad thing about this series is I think I'll read just the first story and the writing sucks me into reading right on thru. If only more stories had this problem!
