Why this must be read:

I was browsing through Stargate recs when I came across this beauty. In this first person POV, we learn more about Daniel's feelings of isolation and confusion after he's just come back to Earth from Abydos. After reading Derridian's words, I just want huggle Daniel and tell him it'll be alright, even though we know it won't be all roses later. Derridian also plays with symbolism very well here with her comparing Daniel's outfit with how he's feeling inside. Some very nice and deep writing. And then at the very end, we've got Jack's promise that they'd find Sha're and Skaara; we can feel Daniel start to feel more comforted and not as lost as a result of this promise. A gorgeous piece that puts some perspective in how harsh the world must have felt to Daniel in those first hours and that first night back on Earth.
