Show: Stargate SG-1
Rec Category: Daniel Jackson
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Pairing: Jack/Daniel
Het/Slash/Gen: Slash
Warning: author warns for battle aftermath, violence/gore
Author on LJ:
tejas
Author's Website: Tejas' Alpha Gate author site
Link: Battle Cry
Why this must be read:
I've always wondered how all the violence inherit with the Stargate being a military operation affected Daniel. All the blood and battles are sure to have changed him at some level. Tejas illustrates this beautifully in Battle Cry. She delves into how a particularly violent and gory mission affects Daniel as well as his past reactions to this aspect of his involvement with the Stargate program. How this author demonstrates the effect of battle on Daniel is just heart wrenching and deep. Tejas' language is so strong and vivid that Battle Cry's last paragraph still sticks with me even months after reading this. Tejas' fanfiction summary of "In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. ~José Narosky" is so true!
And for those out there who aren't Jack/Daniel fans, tejas has also written a gen version. So now there's no reason not to go read this fantastic character study of Daniel and enjoy the beauty of tejas' writing.
