Show: Stargate Atlantis
Rec Category: John Sheppard and Ronon Dex Friendship
Characters: Sheppard, Ronon
Het/Slash/Gen: Gen
Category: Action/Adventure
Warning: Violence
Author: Martha Wilson
Author's Website: “Water Gate”
Link: “Belonging”
Why this must be read: I love Martha’s writing style, every word packs a punch of imagery and emotion, especially in this off-world mission gone wrong. John’s trapped and Ronon is the only one that can rescue him. I adore the Ronon voice in this, practical, succinct and full observations on Atlantis, his team, and Sheppard.
Snippet
Ronon couldn't read expressions from this distance, but Teyla's normally graceful posture seemed tense, and Sheppard... The angular line of Sheppard's body clearly spoke of what Ronon's old Task Master would have called "insolence." To Ronon it meant that this wasn't going to be settled anytime soon. He had heard about the other times supposedly honest people had asked for help, only to try to kill the Atlanteans. He couldn't believe they still trusted anybody. "This is a joke," he muttered sourly..
