Why This Must Be Read: This seems to be my week for recc'ing great first person POV stories, and this is a gem. The first part of this is a rarity - a brilliant Teal'c first-person. In both the narrative and the dialogue, Teal'c's voice is absolutely perfect and absolutely hysterical. This conversation between Jack and our favorite Jaffa would never, ever happen on the show, but if it did? Oh, Lordy. Just like this, and with exactly this much "WTF?" and gravitas, respectively, from our two heroes. Teal'c's conversational voice has rarely been written better for such an extended time.
We then switch over to Jack's first-person, and while the voice is less recognizable, the emotional content makes up for that. There's so much emotion brewing under the surface for Jack in the show that we rarely get to see, and here we get a nice little glimpse into the confusion that Teal'c has just brought up for him. At times it's a bit over the top, but hey, the man's having a bit of a crisis, so we render unto him a break.
And then, of course, we finish up with Daniel's voice for the smut (which, in my opinion, is generally how it should be...::grin::) What I liked here is that for once, this Daniel hasn't been holding a torch for Jack for six years - in fact, he was completely blind-sided by the fact that Jack was hot for him. Once again, we have that "WTF?" factor coming into play, but in a more suitably Danielesque way. Biblio's Daniel is a little more "feminine" that I would personally like, but the smut was nice, which for me, more than makes up for the slight faults that preceded it.
But the Teal'c voice - this rates the story a "C&C" warning (remove all coffee and cats from the vicinity of laps and computers before reading). Laughter ahead!
