Why This Must Be Read:

This pairing is so widely read that I'm sure most of everyone has pretty much read everything good ever posted. I expected this particular story to be widely read already, and maybe it has been but I just don't know it. Just in case though, I strongly recommend it to anyone who has missed it by chance.

I love this fic for the banter between McKay and Sheppard. They're funny and don't let up despite all the things they're going through and the less than stellar situation they find themselves in. Basically, like how they never stop sniping at each other on the actual show. The description of the place sucks you in as well. Halfway through the fic, I was starting to feel dehydrated myself, that's how good

liketheriverrun is as a writer. A good piece of writing, good plot, great characterization and oh yes, the beginnings of a relationship. Run, don't walk. :)

This is an AU that branches off from the Inquisition, an episode I hate with the burning fury of a million suns. But this fic redeems the episode with an interesting premise where instead of being let off free, the Atlantis expedition is found guilty. John and Rodney alone are sentenced to imprisonment on a deserted planet with no means of dialing out so they now face the challenge of surviving in a harsh environment with little to sustain them.
