Why This Must Be Read: John shamelessly steals the old Abbott and Costello gag (impressively without giggling) to drive Teyla insane as his unwitting straight woman in Take Me Out as everyone else tries to keep from laughing and fails. I adore the writer's wisdom in using McKay as the narrator. Not only does it make the story that much more hilarious but it allows Rodney and the reader to look on and laugh with the friends while gaining some insight into how such seeming different people as John and Teyla with the most varied life experiences possible could be so close and enjoy each other so much.
P.S. It's very much worth seeing the original routine that inspired John.
