Why this must be read: When Sheppard gets kidnapped, again, his captors send a disturbing message back through the ‘gate. McKay doesn’t take it well.
A nice role reversal from the tortured/captured Rodney motif, this story is also unique for telling the story from Lorne's POV. The story is intense and Rodney is dangerous and deadly when he takes matters into his own hands. The outsider POV prevents it from getting too overwhelmingly dark and, like nearly everything I love, the ending is uplifting and pitch perfect.
