Why This Must Be Read:
A long, clever, clever, plotty piece which is just right for curling up with on your sofa.  Post-Baal, Jack experiences alarming hallucinations which escalate along with the story.  A team drama - which (fair warning) includes Jonas and not Daniel - that will leave you guessing until the end.

"Desert planet, swamp planet, ice planet...?" 
From the corner of his eye he saw her lips twitch in a repressed smirk. "Try none of the above. The MALP showed blue skies, rolling hills, a valley with a little village..."
"Ah. So it's going to be one of those missions."

Thanks for the rec--an excellent story that I'd never seen before, though it has apparently been out for five years now!

I know! You hardly ever see it mentioned, I think because it's seen as Season 6 rather than a really strong Jack/team story. It did get award noms the year it came out though.
