Why This Must Be Read:

This is a wonderful piece of science fiction in addition to being an SG-1 Sam/Daniel relationship fic. The OC's and their races are fascinating and I keep hoping Thraesja will write more with them. The Sam/Daniel buildup is slow and subtle and the story ends on its beginning. The OC angst pours out in chapter 10 and is simply heartbreaking.

The next thing Sam felt was a deluge of agony and confusion. She clamped her eyes shut, but the action did not stop the flow of images assaulting her. They flickered by, one right after the other, far too quickly for her to take in or attempt to comprehend. An intense pressure was building in her skull, and she knew she was screaming, though she could not hear it. She also knew without a doubt that she would not survive this assault.

About 27,000 words

And it should be noted that Thraesja writes a lot of Sam/Daniel for anyone interested.
