Why This Must Be Read:

An alien artifact sends Jack O'Neill back to the summer of 1985, where he lands painfully in the office of a visiting researcher--one young, sunny and sandy Daniel Jackson.  Between picking fights with suspicious surfers and discussing French poetry, Jack has to navigate the perils of time travel and attempt to win Daniel's assistance to return home.  Quite a lot of glorious plot, romance, and banter ensues, and you may take your pick of the angst-ridden or happy endings.  I like my time travel endings the way Jack likes pie, so I recommend both.
