Why This Must Be Read:
The author has Vala dead on for one. Great, straight up pov. Because I've never thought Vala was the type to stand around pining for Daniel when he makes every conceivable effort to show no interest in her that way (well, at least the man tries).
Vala is a savvy, decisive character, and if she can't satisfy her needs one way, then she's not about to lose sleep going about it another way. (Actually she does, but read it yourself.) That's exactly where Mitchell fits in.
This Mitchell is not the easy-going, eager-eyed new puppy of SG-1 we so often see. This guy takes no prisoners. WYSIWYG. There's humor, too, but this Cameron Mitchell takes what he wants and takes it in a big way, and man, is it HOT!

“Now then,” she says, and takes a shaky breath to summon tears. “This is a new world for me.”
He slumps against her and rests his forehead on her knee. “You’re kidding.”
She looks at him and debates for a minute.
“Oh, fine,” she says, “do you feel sympathy for my ragged upbringing?”
“Yes,” he growls, “I’m very sorry your homeworld sucked,” and when she grins he knocks her leg out of the way and grabs for her hips, yanking her into his lap.
As he slides his hand under her shirt, she thinks: worth it.
